Old Joliet Prison & Buca di Beppo

Program is Full
Join us for an unforgettable journey through the storied past of the Old Joliet Prison. On this 90-minute guided tour, both indoors and outdoors, you’ll explore one of Illinois’ most iconic sites, active from 1858 until its closure in 2002. The tour provides a fascinating overview of the prison’s history while giving you access to key areas such as the West Cell House, North Segregation, Cafeteria, and other buildings as available. After your adventure, you’re sure to have worked up an appetite - and we’ve got you covered! Enjoy a delicious, family-style meal at Buca di Beppo, featuring warm bread, fresh salad, spaghetti, fettuccine Alfredo, chicken parmigiana, and dessert. Coffee, tea, and soft drinks are included. The prison will have some seating available, but the terrain is rough and uneven. Extensive walking. Transportation via recreation van. Registration/cancellation deadline Wed, April 15.
